I can't tell you how many times I've had people say to me, "Wayne, I wish we had your show on our local AM or FM station. All we have in our state are right wing bloviating extremists polluting the airwaves with their hatred and lies."
You no longer have to depend on your local right wing station to hear discussions of news and politics. The technology now exists to listen to your favorite progressive programs, like The Wayne Besen Show, on your daily commute. Or, you can listen to my show on your smartphone while taking a walk, sunning at the beach, cooking, or at the gym.
Bluetooth technology has liberated us from the tyranny of right wing corporate radio and television. All you have to do is take the initiative to learn the easy steps to connecting your phone to your car stereo. If you don't know how, ask a friend, family member, or call the car dealership where you purchased your automobile to walk your through the steps.
Great progressive programming is literally at your fingertips.
This is particularly important because there are about 1,000 right wing radio stations, compared to about a dozen that have progressive programming. Right now, you can drive across our country without hearing a single progressive voice on the air. This imbalance has dumbed down America, distorted our politics, and led to the election of George W. Bush and Donald Trump. The result of Americans only hearing right wing rhetoric has also led to Republicans controlling Washington and dominating most state legislatures.
Through Bluetooth technology, we have the power to change this media dynamic (and our country) by denying the extremists an audience for their "alternative facts." At the same time, we can create robust progressive media platforms to educate, entertain, and persuade people to support our ideas.
This is precisely what has been missing. Progressives have superior ideas -- but few people get a change to hear them. By getting all progressives to dump right wing corporate radio by hooking up their smart phones to their car stereos - we can permanently alter the way messages are delivered in this country.
Below is a sample video of how to use Bluetooth to set up and pair your phone with your car stereo. While this video focuses on music, the same principles can be applied to listen to The Wayne Besen Show video or podcast.
